Welcome to International Karate Jitsu
Honoring Tradition. Encouraging Growth. Walking the Path Together.
🌟 Our Mission
Our mission is to support Karate Jitsu practitioners by offering thoughtful opportunities for learning, connection, and growth. We aim to preserve the traditions of martial arts while staying open to meaningful evolution.
Karate Jitsu should be accessible to all. Joining us doesn’t require leaving your current dojo or federation. We welcome all who share the values of respect, humility, and lifelong learning.
📜 Our Story
International Karate Jitsu was founded in 2024 by Sensei Oscar Silvera, with the hope of creating a respectful, inclusive space for martial artists who value both tradition and practical application.
What started as a personal vision is now slowly growing into a supportive network of instructors and students dedicated to the spirit of Karate Jitsu.
🧭 Our Founder
Oscar Silvera, Sensei
With more than 40 years of martial arts experience, Sensei Oscar holds a 6th Dan in Shotokan Karate and black belts in Aikido, Iaido, and Taekwondo. He began teaching in Lima, Peru in 1985, later continued in Virginia, and now leads the Japanese Martial Arts Academy in Michigan.
His approach blends traditional values with practical application, always aiming to guide students toward technical skill, confidence, and self-awareness.
🌐 A Growing Community
Though we’re still in the early stages, International Karate Jitsu is connecting with martial artists around the world who believe in training with heart, humility, and purpose.
